Just this past Thanksgiving my husband broke his finger playing in our ward Turkeybowl. And by break, I mean he destroyed it. He had to have surgery where they took part of his wrist bone and put it in his pinky finger. He was off work for almost 2 months. Now he is in physical therapy and will hopefuly get some use of that finger back.
With his physical therapy excerises he needs to be able to warm up his finger. So he asked to me to make him a rice bag. I just took a 12″x12″ square and folded it in half and sewed it leaving one of the small sides opened. I put in a bag of rice, or 2 lb. He needed his to be flexible to wrap around his hand so I didn’t want to fill it too full. Once the rice was in I sewed it closed.
