Isn’t this quilt gorgeous. Can you see what was done with it. It started dark on one end and gets lighter as it progresses towards the other side.
I have a little secret about this quilt. I did NOT make this quilt… my husband DID make this quilt. Isn’t he awesome. This is the third quilt that he has made. The first one was huge. I am waiting for some better weather so I can take it outside and snap some pics of it.
|This was his first time making bias binding.|
But more about this quilt. He made it for his high school friends whose wife just had a baby. The nursery room colors were blue, green and white. And they had a little girl. It just so happens that a couple months ago I participated in a charm swap where the colors were blue, green and purple. So this quilt was made almost entirely out of my stash. The only thing that we had to get was the borders and the binding.
He used the 3″ twister ruler. He started out with 5″ blocks and 7 blocks by 9 blocks with with a 3″ inner border and then twisted it with the Twister tool. You can find this tool at your local quilt shop. After he twisted it and sewed it back together he added a 5″ outer border.
Since his friend already had a daughter who is like 3 he made a little doll quilt out of the scraps. Isn’t he awesome
