This is the perfect salad to take to your summer BBQ’s. Its so fast to make. Honestly, it takes like 30 minutes at the most to make it. And every time I make it people ask me for the recipe. Which I find hilarious because for the most part it comes from a box.
Yes people, my pasta salad is from a box. But, its what I add to it and I the way I tweak the directions that make it so fantastic.
Okay so to start what you’ll need is:
1 box of Suddenly Pasta the classic kind
1 Medium green pepper
4-5 String cheese
small red onion
(If you don’t want to use the boxed pasta then you’ll need pasta and your favorite Italian dressing.)
First step add water to your pan and boil the pasta as the box tells you too.
Then while the pasta is boiling cut up your red onion. You can determine the amount based on how much you like onion. I like it so I usually cut up about 1/4 to 1/2 of it.
Then cut the green pepper and add to the bowl.
|Make sure you pull the seeds out
before you cut it up.
Then the cheese. I cut them so that they are about 1/4″ thick and then add to the bowl.
I buy the mini peperoni’s but, if you buy the normal ones you’ll want to cut them in half and add them to the bowl.
Next, you’ll make the dressing. The box says to do 3 Tbsp of water and 2 Tbsp of vegetable oil. I do 3 and 3 so that it doesn’t dry out. (if your not using the box add 1/3 cup of Italian dressing)
Once the pasta has boiled drain and run cold water through it to cool the pasta.
Add it to the bowl with the other ingredients that you cut up.
Pour the dressing on top of your pasta and stir to incorporate all the ingredients.
Chill in the fridge for 1-2 hours or overnight.
