As you all know I love Adorn It! fabric. Their lines are always so stinkin’ cute. I just have to make something out of them.
Right after I found out I was having a girl (as in that night) I started planning out the nursery theme. I looked all over the Internet and came up with a couple different color schemes. But not anything that I was in love with. So I did what I always do I hit up the local quilt shop with a quest to find that perfect fabric line/color combo that I wanted.
Lucky for me a couple days before Adorn It!’s Nested Owls line had released. To start I have to say this; I have never been a huge fan of owls. I know that they are super in right now and everyone loves them. They just weren’t my thing. Until this fabric came into my life. I actually feel in love with it because of the colors. I am not a pastel person. I have always done really bright colors in my babies rooms. I love the colors in this quilt because they aren’t dull and they aren’t super bright. The coral and the mint in the line are my faves. And now everywhere I go I buy something with owls on it for Hailey.
I made this quilt using the Bizzy Kid pattern by Cluck Cluck Sew. Its bigger than the standard crib quilt, which i love. My oldest boy still drags his crib quilt around and it barely covers him. That’s why I opted for the bigger size. I know it’ll last her longer and it’ll definitely get used. I fussy cut the owl blocks so they would be showcased in the quilt.
My mom made sheets, bumper pads and a crib skirt to match. As soon as I get the crib set up I will share pics. Its gorgeous.
