So as many of you know my boys are obsessed with trains. (And that’s an understatement!) So this summer when the North Pole Express tickets went on sale we bought them. I am talking like end of July. We wanted to make sure that we had them. This is something that we have talked about doing with the kids since Jack was like 2 and first showed an interest in trains. And I am so happy that we were finally able to go!
My kids had an absolute blast! The tickets were not badly priced either. It was a 90 minute train ride round trip. As we were waiting in line to get on the train our host lifted Jack (my oldest boy) up on the stairs to get into the train and he got to yell “ALL ABROAD!” He thought that was the greatest thing in the whole world.
On our way to the North Pole our host was having every one sing Christmas songs, because every knows that Christmas music is what makes the North Pole appear. Jack got to sing Rudolph into the microphone and he thought that was pretty cool. They sang a mistletoe song and I got caught under it with Easton (my younger boy) and James got caught under it with Jack.
We had a couple elves on the train who passed out hot chocolate and cookies on our ride down. It was really good hot chocolate. I was surprised.
Once we got to the North Pole we got to see Santa. As we drove by the North Pole, which was actually there. They had some wooden houses all decorated with lights and such. Plus Santa was standing out side waving to the train. We stopped there and picked up Santa. He then visited with every kid by going car to car. Each kid got a bell to take home.
It was such a fun experience. I am so glad that we were able to make this memory with our kids and we’ll probably do it every year!
