Its Ahoy Matie and it is so cute! I don’t know about you all but I LOVE pirate fabric. I think it is super cute and can be used for any age group.
I made 2 quilts for my cousin who is due to have twin boys next month!! I am so excited for her. Even though the thought of having 2 Haileys makes me want to take a nap.
This first quilt is a twister quilt using the newest Midi-twister. It starts with 6.5″ squares and you end up with 5″ twisted blocks. I love twister quilts. I had never done one where I alternated in some solids but i think it turned out super cute. Definitely going to do it again. I made the binding with a fat quarter. If you have never used a fat quarter to make bias binding it is super easy and you get a lot. Here is a great tutorial.
The second one I used the Vintage Days pattern by Its Sew Emma. However I didn’t add the borders like the pattern says to. I just used a fat quarter and did 3″ borders.
I also made this adorable floor pouf for my little Easton. It was a birthday gift along with some books. He drags the thing all over the house. He likes to use it while he is watching TV or reading. Heck he even tried to eat his dinner while sitting on it. It is really comfy as a back pillow too. Trust me. I tested it out. And now I think I need one.
I love Northcott fabrics in general. They are so soft and durable. Perfect for quilts that will be used and loved. And i love the designs! But I think Ahoy Matie has to be one of my favorites. It can used to make a variety of things
