I LOVE precuts! They are awesome. As i have stated many, many, many times. I love them because you get such a variety of fabrics for a good price. Today I am going to share with you 2 of quilts I made with the Stone Strips by Northcott.
I LOVE Stonehenge fabrics and I love that i can get them in strips! I like that they aren’t solids but can be used as them. Does that make sense. I love Northcott fabrics, as I have said and I was so excited to make these quilts.
This first one I used the Northcott Sand and Surf strips. This is a Jelly Roll race quilt. Its a fun and fast quilt to make. Jenny at Missouri Star Quilt company has a great tutorial. I know where I live a lot of quilt shops have been hosting Jelly Roll Race days. They are so much fun. All of the Stonehenge strips would make such cute jelly roll race quilts. I can’t wait to make more.
The second quilt I made I used the Stonehenge Winter Strips. This is a pattern that I came up with by myself and will be writing a tutorial for in the next couple days. I seriously LOVE this quilt. I added the bright flowers onto the bottom (also Stonehenge) to give the quilt a little pop. I have some of the fabric from the flowers left so I might do a bright scrappy binding or a grey.
When I was working on this quilt I noticed that The Fat Quarter Shop currently has Stonehenge as the Basic of The Month. So for the whole month of April 2014 Stonehenge is 20%. Perfect time to add some of this awesome fabric to your stash.
