I love pillows and quilts. When you put them together you have something AMAZING!!! Its is quillow. I love quillows and I am so excited to show you how to make one. I used the Moda collection Giggles by Me & My Sisters Desgins.
2 yrds front
2 yrds back
1/2 yrd pillow
2 yards polyester (poofy) batting
Basic sewing kit
Take your half yard piece and trim the selvage off. Then stitch down the 2 long sides right sides together.
Turn inside out and press flat.
Find the middles of the pillow and the front of your quilt.
Line them up and pin place.
Sew down the 2 short sides attaching the pillow to the front of the quilt, You can use a straight stitch or a decorative stitch.
Place the front and the back of the quilt right sides together. Sew all the way around leaving it open where the pillow part is. Use between a 1/4″ to 1/2″ seam allowance.
Lay batting on top of the quilt and baste in place.
Make sure you don’t baste the opening closed.
Turn right side out through the opening and lay flat.
If you have them you can put the quilt on quilting frames to tie it or just lay it on the floor. To learn how I tie my quilts fast and easy visit my blog.
Sew opening closed with a 1/8″ seam.
How to fold the quillow:
Lay with the pocket side down
Fold over long ways to the pocket.
Repeat with other sides.
Fold in thirds.
Manipulate the quilt until the pillow lays flat.
