I was so excited to see all your blocks from the first month. These quilts will be so amazing when they are completed!
For block 3 we will not be doing the block that is in the pattern. It is a paper piecing block which I realize not everyone likes or know how to do. However, If you want to do the paper piecing block I encourage you to try. There are a lot of different you tube videos and tutorials out there on how to do this technique. If you do decide to try your hand at paper piecing I highly recommend that you do a practice block using some scraps that you may have laying around the house.
For this block we are adding the grey circles as our #3 fabric. This is a very simple block. For the most part it is just 2.5″ squares and the rectangles. On the pattern I sent you I wrote in red out to the side what fabric # I used for each spot. But you can change the layout all you want. Just make sure you use all 3 of the fabrics and the background (so 4 fabrics total) somewhere in the block.
For this block we are adding the green with the flowers as our fabric #4. This block is also a very easy block. I don’t have pics of it though cause it was a sample block I did to hang in the store and somehow the pictures where deleted off my camera. The only somewhat tricky part is the triangles.
Cut a strip 1 1/2″ by width of fabric. Then using your triangle rule line the raw edges up the bottom on the line that the 1 1/2″ arrow is pointing to on the ruler and the top of the ruler. Cut your triangle out. Every triangle your flip the ruler upside down. See the illustration at the top of your pattern.
