The house that we are currently renting has a whole lot of brown in it. And it drives me CRAZY! I’m not saying that brown is ugly. I like brown here and there. But not in every room in my house. Even my front door was brown. Every time I pulled up to my house it was a reminder of all the brown inside. So I decided to do something about it.
I was introduced to Modern Masters paint earlier this year and instantly feel in love with their unique paint options. One of the thing I loved the most was their Front Door paint. The Front Door paint has a never fade promise. I really like this because in the summer the sun is constantly shining on my front door.
The colors offered in this collection were chosen using the Emotional Color Wheel. I love that. It gives you a chance to make your front door say something about you, your family and your home. Me and the hubs decided to let the kids help us chose a color. It came down to 2 options: Fortunate (bright green) or Happy (bright yellow). Since I wanted my door to make me feel happy I was home every time I pulled up we went with Happy.
Since my door was brown to start with we decided to primer it before we painted. We only did one coat but after we started with the yellow we wished we had done 2. But all well. My oldest was so excited that we were painting that we let him help out a little.
We ended up doing 3 coats of the yellow. But we did get the door done in one day with touch ups the next. This paint drys super fast so it an easy and fast project that can completely change the look of your home.
I LOVE my yellow door and it really does make me so HAPPY when I come home. I have had so many people comment on how cut it looks. And even though its just the beginning of summer it looks super adorable with my Halloween Wreath hanging on it.
