I was looking through my posts the other day and I realized that I never shared the quilt I made for Carson’s crib. I really thought I had… We’ll just blame that on the pregnancy brain. lol Better late than never!
Since this is our last baby I wanted to do something that I thought my husband would really like. No surprise here… I picked out everything for the other 3 babies nurseries. My husbands fave color is green. Not just any green… bright neon green. So I decided to use that color. To help it not be so blinding green I added some black and grey to the quilt. The black is a shade basic, Phantom, from Riley Blake that I had in my stash and the grey is a solid basic from Riley Blake that I also had in my stash. Something that I find rather amusing is that a lot if the greens are from holiday lines. You can get some great greens in the Halloween and Christmas fabric collections. For my backing I used a Riley Blake polka dot (I’m starting to see a trend. lol) that I had left over from another quilt backing.
I did simple loopy’s for the quilting in a neon green to match the green in the quilt.I seriously love how this quilt turned out. I used the Dixie pattern by Cluck Cluck Sew. I have had this pattern for like 2 or 3 years but never could decide what fabrics to use in it. I love this pattern so much and it is perfect in his crib and in these colors.
