I am a little late getting this post up and I apologize. With the baby being in the hospital for over a week it through every thing off. But at least he is healthy and happy again. I love this sweet little boy.To tell you a little about my quilt- We will be using the Farm Girl Vintage book by Lori Holt. The center of the quilt will have blocks from her book in the 12″ size. Then there will be 3 sashing strips at 2″ each. And the outer border will be the Cherry block from the book in the 6″ size with a different 6″ block in the corners. It is going to be a very scrappy, happy quilt and I can’t wait to get started.
Each month we will make one of the center blocks and 4 cherry blocks. In October we will make the 4 cornerstone blocks. And the last 2 months you can catch up on your cherry blocks if you fell behind.Month one we are making the Tomatoes and Corn block found on page 21. The fabrics are (if you bought my kit
A and B is your background fabric
C- “Corn” is the orange fabric
D- “Tomatoes” is the yellow and white geometric print
E- “corners” is the yellow with the white pin dots
Accurate seam allowances are super important when making any of the blocks in this quilt. Make sure you are using a 1/4″ seam allowance. The Cherry Pie block is found on page 55. Make sure when you are cutting this block out that you are looking at the 6″ cutting instructions. In your cute you should have enough brown to make all 36 cherry blocks so make sure you hold onto all your scraps. Make 4 with this months kit.
Pressing is very important with these blocks. I would highly recommend investing in a bottle of Best Press.
