If you haven’t already noticed Katie and I love our Happy Planners. So much that we made our own charms. All supplies are from Fizzy Pops. They have all you need to create your own accessory. Also you can head over to their Blog for inspiration.
Ready to create your own? Follow these steps and you will have your own charm ready to show off.
Needle nose pliers, big and small, you will need 2 wire cutters
Chain, we did 11 links per key chain
Ribbon, color of choice
First thing, get out all supplies you need from the list above. I know….common sense!!
Next, grab your ribbon and cut it between 8″-9″ inches long. We chose 3 different colors, and had 9 strands total. Put to the side.
Now the hard part, at least a little for me. You will need to pair of needle nose pliers Holding the wire with one pair, use the other pair to to bend forward, so it makes a 90 degree angle. Then pull it down so it starts to look like you are making a loop. After, you have bent the wire down. You will start to wrap it around 2-3 times to. Sorry, the picture does no justice.Continue with the rest of the beads you are using. Careful, the wire will poke you. Fair warning!
After you have done all of that you will start to slide them on the split ring key chain. If you noticed, some loops are closer to the beads and some have space. We did that so it gave it dimension in length. Does that make sense?!
The locket was attached to to the keychain, and we attached the cute arrow charm to the chain links. We have it longer on the locket charm so it will wrap around the planner ring. But before we finish up we need to add the ribbon.
Grab all your ribbon and slide through the keychain, I like to have some pieces longer and some shorter. But what ever you feel. Grab some thread and wrap it around the ribbon tying a knot to hold it all together nice and tight. And voila! You are finished. Here it is on my mini planner.
Where are you going to put your charm?
