Every month Katie and I will have a post called “Mantle Non-Mantle” I have seen so many mantles that are adorably decorated and we don’t have one, well not really. I have a Fireplace TV stand but doesn’t have the fireplace insert…yet. So, that will be decorated every month with a fun theme.
I got together with Fizzy Pops and looked at all the fun beads they offer, and decided these awesome geometrical wooden beads would be perfect.
The fabric scraps used were cut into about 1- 1 1/2 inch strips and about 9-12 inches in length. I used a green bakers twine to hold both beads and fabric.
Starting out I used 5 beads and then 3 strips of fabric. But do what you feel looks the best. I used a sewing needle to help thread the beads through the beads, such a life saver!! How I tied the fabric around the bead was I grabbed both bottoms, pulled behind and up the back of the fabric and through the top, gently pull tight until the knot is towards the twine. I hope that makes sense, if not there are a lot of tutorials to help you out. I love the way it turned out, and the pictures do not give it justice. This project was quick and simple, my favorite kind of craft!!
