I realize that I am a little behind the times with this book. But it happens. I love to read. But as a busy mom and wife I don’t have the time to read as much as I would like to. I try to finish at least one book a month and this is the book I read in March.
Synopsis- Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has barely been farther afield than her tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex-Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair-bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and he is not interested in exploring a new one.
Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, Lou sets out to show him that life is still worth living.
Me Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?
My thoughts I had a hard time getting into this book but by chapter 5 I was hooked. This story is definitely heartbreaking. I read this book in 3 days cause I couldn’t put it down. I had to know if he was going to do it. Was Will really going to end his life? I mean I didn’t blame him. But I couldn’t help but think how selfish his choice was. Such a sad, heartbreaking story. But what a difference he made is Louisa’s life. He opened her eyes and showed her everything she was messing out on. Everything she was settling for. heartbreaking but inspiring.
Now that I have read the book I really want to see the movie. Hopefully it will be on Netflix soon. Since Blockbuster is no longer around I can’t run down and pick up a VHS. Lol.
